sunday riding

Did some riding sunday - down the big papio trail to church, then to little kings for lunch, to the dog park for ginger, to tranquility to find the trial not rideable, around standing bear lake, finishing with some hill repeats in a nearby neighborhood. Around 3hrs total. Looks like the bb is growing a goatee.

Good job Dale. You do know that the Packers and Giants played in minus 23 degree temps though Sunday. A real hard core fixie would ride in shorts and T-shirt.

Only an inch or two of snow, except at tranquility where I pushed through 1.5' snowdrifts to the fort st parking lot. Then fell over taking off. 8-)

Very enjoyable ride for temps between 10-15. I'm encouraged when I use my bike for commuting. Standing on the pedals with the snow so dry, it would churp like a bird when the tires were pushing the traction limit.

Breaking up the ride with warm ups helped a lot: 50 mins to church, 5 mins to lunch, 10 mins to dog park and 15 mins walking around with ginger, 5 min warmup in van, then 1.5 hrs for the rest.

Nothing like Lam-bo field in January! That was hardcore. I've jokingly thought about a short sleeve shirt though. It takes me 5+ mins to get ready to commute 10 mins. I thought about just strapping on a helmet and riding home in my short sleeve shirt Monday night but am glad I didn't.

I've been thought mad before! Some think riding a bike for 30 miles is madness, or in circles for a couple hours, or spending $2000 on a bike and it doesn't even have a motor.
