electrical malaise

Last week, put a new headlight bulb in Leah's van with a little help from Dave. This week, the battery light comes on. The next day the car dashlights blink, engine revs unexpectantly. Take to Sears for a new battery and it wouldn't turn over in their parking lot. Battery light still on. Sears thinks the alternator is bad. I decide to take to Baxters. Leah drives to class, similar problems again with dashlights and engine reving. I take to Baxters this morning. The battery and engine lights are on, the tranny is locked in 2nd gear, a protective measure when a serious fault is detected.

I've been reading about commuting recently, Pedaling Revolution an article on the Fear of Cycling. So I decide to ride my bike home from Baxters instead of using their free drop off service. I noticed two kids rode their bikes to school today - good for them!

So I get home and go to make a pot of joe and the coffee pot doesn't work. Did I mention our other vehicle burned out a headlight yesterday? And when I tried to publish this the first time, received an error and had to type this all in again!!! I made a copy of this time before clicking publish just in case. 8-)
