no frills tt practice

A triathlete/friend of mine is organizing a "no frills time trial practice"; see details below. I will be there tomorrow evening. I did it last week. Good way to get in a few extra miles.

Hey Everyone - If you're a cyclist or triathlete or budding cyclist or triathlete, I wanted to invite you to a no-frills, no entry fee, no big deal, no awards, no noth'in cycling time trial. I'll be doing it a couple of times this month and next, and, probably into the summer too.

Here's how it works. Meet at 230th and Maple - north side. Time trial starts there and heads north - out and back. Not the greatest road pavement-wise, but acceptable enough for this short deal. 10 mile option - turning around just short of Elk City, or 11.8 mile option (couldn't quite hit 12 cause we run into Hwy. 36).

Here's when I'm planning on doing it:

Tues. April 21st - TT starts at 6:45pm
Tues. April 28th - TT - 6:45pm
Tues. May 5 - 7pm
Tues. May 26 - 7pm

Time Trials are you against the clock. You're only competing against yourself. We'll start folks either 30 sec. apart or a minute. Great practice for shorter triathlons and any/all cycling events. If you do several you can use them for a measuring your progress (or, lack of it :) There will be lots of encouragement and this is open to everyone from the super experienced to first-timers.

I'll be leaving from my house (just north of 151st and Maple, and riding out Maple for a nice 1/2 hour warm up and same afterwards for a cool down. This will be a fun, low/no pressure deal. Everyone is on your own safety wise. Don't even think about not wearing a helmet though. Not much traffic out there but obviously the course is open to traffic vs. a closed course.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll start an e-group list just for this. If no one shows, no problem. It'll be ME against MY clock. Spread the word though....
