what goes up, must come down

spinnin' wheels, got to go round. Talkin' bout your troubles ...

Doug, Martin, and I went out to Platte Sunday afternoon. They must have received more rain than we did in Omaha b/c sections of the doubletrack were greasy - though we were able to climb to 001 without pushing.

With the wetness we saw on the way up, we decided to stay out of the gully and take the fenceline down. Martin was leading the way bombing down ... then really going down on some slickness. Leaning in to a left turn, the wheels let go and he went down, bouncing twice and sliding to a stop!

Doug's line is on the left, then Martin's, then mine plowing mud on the right. Doug was trying to go around but Martin kept sliding into his line. Fortunately they didn't connect.

Martin was laughing through the pain. Afterwards, we pedal up to 001 and Doug goes in while Martin and I pedal up to the shortcut for Ruthies. Martin tried but couldn't go downhill on the rough singletrack. He continued up the doubletrack and I took Ruthies. We all met at the top, Doug and I finished while Martin took the doubletrack back. Martin should be heavily sedated with advil or tylinol right about now. Hopefully it is a bruse and not a strained muscle or cracked rib.

Heal quickly my friend!
