Hot Lunch Lap @ Tranq yesterday!

I skipped lunch at the office and headed to Tranq to take andvantage of what I thought would be epic conditions. The trail was perfect. I don't recall ever riding Tranq and not seeing DUST.
Besides seeing 1 runner and 2 other MTBikers, I saw tons of these and 1 of these.

Those hoppers were CRAZY. I think that they landed on every body part and even got into my jersey. I was wondering what someone would do if they were afraid of "bugs"! It would be funny!
Is the city making another parking lot or more soccer fields at bottom of the hill? I THINK it took out some singletrack but I'm not sure as I was still able to ride along the edge and stay on a path?

Does anyone know what the city is doing?

Tranquility is the practice area for the city heavy equipment operators. I've seen them digging with backhoes before. Joe, the park caretaker, said they are grading for practice. I think they are grading upto the trail but not taking it out. If they do, we are flexible and will route through or around their work.

Tranquility has several construction/storage areas so be careful and give the city employees plenty of room. They don't want an accident and neigther do we. Be friendly with a wave, etc. Maintaining a good relationship is good for continued and future mtb'ing and just getting along with the neighbors.

I noticed last night that they city did extend their excavation practice over the trail, which was new from Monday. It is still ridable though just big clods of dirt. It looks like they may be digging more up by the tennis courts too.

I was superfrendly and waved to the excavtor guy and then once down the hill and onto the road to the creek section there was another city truck. I saw these guys and was on my side of the road, they slowed way down anyway and I shot them a peace sign and said hello.
