Well it was a soggy Saturday and the Cornhuskers got gutted like a fish but the new Tranquility trail expansion marched on. All flagging is now complete on the South side of the park and the big downhill section that was a dead end yesterday is now completed and mowed all the way down to the gravel road. Please ride it!
Hard to tell total trail distance yet but it should exceed 7 miles. There is a new long sustained climb now on the East face of the big hill preceded by a lot of fast loose windy single track down on the flats. Hopefully this will be mowed and ready to ride in the near future weather permitting. Dale went out this afternoon and worked on smoothing out the first big hill climb so Martin won't crash again in a rut... wait that was me. Anyway, thanks Dale!

This is great news because now the most rutted section of trail, the straight trail to the Papio, is retired and can returned to nature.
Thanks Doug for your high energy, excitement, and big hours being put into the reroute.
I took the edge off where the new trail crosses the old and the corner where Doug crashed that has 4 or so ruts. The tread shaping will take some time as we work on the worst ruts first.
Concerning the old trail, I put in some relief cuts to get the water off it more frequently. More cuts need to be put in. Please don't ride the old trail on the south hill anymore.
Good timing on the relief cuts Dale. Man, what a soggy weekend.
I hurt my back on Friday but once that heals up I'll do my part to break in this new section.
Thanks again Doug for the extreme efforts!
