Well, wednesday morning I got gutted like a fish and my Gall Bladder is now gone (saving over 276 grams of non rotating weight). The surgery went well and I was released from the hospital by thursday afternoon in time to enjoy reading about the Dakota 50. Congrats to all who went. Big cheers to Roxy for an amazing race time and big win!
I am already missing my Mamasita and I go spin her wheels each day as she sits restlessly in her stand. I think I'll be healed from surgery before my injuries from the Swanson race are gone. I don't ever want to crash that hard again! I may head out on foot to Tranquility in about a week to start laying new course reroutes with flags. Hope everyone is having fun riding their bikes in the cooler weather, it is no fun just riding ice bags and pain pills.... well the pain pills are kind of fun I guess. Hope to see you back on the trail soon.

Hey Doug - didn't know you had your surgery this week. Hope you are healing up quickly and can get back on the bike soon. Did you ask the docs to remove any other unnecessary organs while they had you on the table to save additional weight? :-)
Doug's metabolism is so efficient that the doctors decided to remove approx 15 feet of small intestine, effectively cutting process time and weight in half. Doc said it ws the closest thing they could do to create a "singlespeed digestive system".
Doug, your prowess on the bike will be missed. But It is awesome to see that we wont have to miss out on your energy and attitude. Heal fast buddy. Whether on foot on trail or just around shop, hope to see you soon.
I'm glad to hear your doing well. Congrats on dropping that extra 276 grams.
Hope to see you on the trails soon.
I'll be riding mainly tranquility this fall/winter so I'm looking forward to the new routes.
Glad to hear everything came out alright. Heal up well.
I think one of those Wolf Den double burgers in Stanton ought to fill in the space of your gall bladder just about right.
Hope you heal up quickly!!!
Heal up quickly, I am looking forward in helping out with the course reroutes
