This summer, I have been wondering how to celebrate my 60th Birthday. Over the last 2 years, I have come an avid cyclist - particular mountain biking. So, I decided the best way to celebrate is by having a mountain bike ride with my friends. Here's the skinny on the ride:
Lake Manawa State Park, Council Bluffs, IA
Saturday, October 13th, 2007 Start gathering at 1pm
Ride the trails for 1 1/2 to 2 hours
Food and drinks to follow (at a shelter at the Park)
No charge. I will have burgers and buns - bring what else you want to eat/drink
I was planning to reserve a shelter, but no reservations after 9/30 - so first come/first served. Will shoot for Shelter 2.
If the trails are not rideable, we will take a ride on the paved trail around CB. Lets hope for good weather and trail conditions.

Congrats on the big 6-0, Tom! Glad you found mtb'ing and it is being good to you. We appreciate you giving back to the cycling community through serving in THOR and taking pics at the local races.
Not sure I can make it Saturday, depends on how current committments go.
Enjoy the ride (and food)!
