Tranquility is rideable for tonight

Barring anymore rain today, I checked the technical section around 1530 and it is rideable, though 3 or 4 wet spots. Assume the rest of the trail will be good. Watch for more erosion ruts on the south hill.

FYI, Doug plans major rerouting of the south hill this Fall to minimize the erosion we are seeing. Water from the flattop, dump truck traffic, and not enough grade reversals in the trail necessitate the reroute. Don't have to move dirt, just layout and mow in when the grass dies back.

You got that right baby! Rerouting/improving the single track on the South sector of Tranquility has preoccupied my tiny mind for over over a month now and I am on a mission to see it through. While we are limited with space and a lack of timber on the South side we do have an abundance of unused ground and some decent grades to work with. Once we flag out the new single track routing complete with 2 more grade reversed long climbs, lots more windy turns and flowing sweeper turns I will be asking for any and all help with the initial high cut mowing, (which will be much appreciated). Then after we decide things are where we want them exaclty we will take the grass down low and then burn it off with weed killer. Our goal is to make ALL of the course fun once again and extend it in length for a better and longer Tranquility Tire Tantrum race next year.

The terrain at Tranquility will obviously keep this course novice friendly which is fine and good. Our goal is to grow the sport and Tranquility seems to be a popular starting point for many new riders. I personally feel the South side has more potential, is ready for growth and the erosion problems need to be dealt with. We can make it better and that I strongly believe is a goal worthy of pursuit.

Thanks, Doug
