I am contemplating going into Iowa this year, probably cross at Bellevue, ride to Glenwood, come back across at Plattsmouth.
There will be a SAG vehicle this year!!!

and there are varying speeds, too. don't worry about getting dropped and finding yourself all alone in Iowa.
Correct, there will be groups of all speeds and usually one of the Bike Master team members will bring up the rear to make sure nobody gets left behind.
I did the spring one and had a blast. We stopped a lot to regroup and rest as needed, so it tends to take most of the day to get done, which gives you lots of time to ride with more people and get to know them.
I think we should make Bryan ride his single speed on the century ;-)
